Vince Eaton has spent 18 years in the trade and as a member of UA Local 290, building his career from a first-term apprentice to general foreman and gaining experience across a wide range of the industry.
His experience includes industrial piping, fabrication, shutdowns, maintenance, paper mills, data centers, colleges, commercial projects, and high-tech facilities, where he also served on an emergency crew. That experience has given Vince a broad perspective on the trade and the challenges Local 290 members face in the field.
But Vince’s commitment to Local 290 goes beyond his work in the field.
He taught 10th-term Steamfitter review classes for seven years and has served on the Executive Board for nearly three years, continuing to stay involved in the union and advocate for his fellow members.
“I don’t want to simply say that the members come first—I want our actions to demonstrate that they actually do.”
Vince believes Local 290 needs meaningful change, and he wants to be part of making that change happen.
He chose to stand with Team Joe because he believes the membership deserves a voice, transparency, accountability, and leadership that is willing to listen and ask difficult questions.
For Vince, representing the membership means more than making promises. It means standing up for what is right, advocating for the people he represents, and making sure members understand what is happening in their union and why decisions are being made.
One of Vince’s biggest priorities is strengthening the relationship between union leadership and the membership.
“Our members deserve to know what is happening in their union and why decisions are being made. Accountability and transparency matter.”
For Vince, representing the membership means listening to members, asking difficult questions, and standing up for what is right—even when it isn’t the easiest thing to do.
He wants to see a Local 290 where members have a voice, leadership is accountable, and members can trust that their interests are being represented.
Members who are heard.
Leadership that is accountable.
A union that represents its members.
Vince’s life isn’t all pipe, fitting, and working in the field.
When he isn’t working or serving his union, you’ll most likely find him serving his community, coaching youth sports, hunting, fishing, or spending time with his family.
Vince is the President of the Scio Youth Club and has coached youth football for 16 years and baseball and softball for 13 years. He is also a proud father of a 17-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son.
As Vince puts it:
“I love to hunt and fish, and I enjoy being involved with my community and coaching youth sports.”
