Adam Mask has spent 27 years as a member of UA Local 290, building his career across nearly every corner of the industry.
His experience includes working in paper mills, food processing plants, military bases, tank farms, pipelines, and the high-tech industry, with extensive experience in both welding and fitting.
But Adam’s commitment to Local 290 goes beyond the jobsite.
He graduated from the International Training Center in Michigan and has served his fellow members in several different roles, including apprentice instructor, journeyman instructor, and shop steward. He currently serves on the Examining Board, continuing his commitment to maintaining the standards and strength of our trade.
“It’s a group of brothers and sisters from different backgrounds coming together to make our local a better place. I think we’ve been missing that.”
Adam believes Local 290 is strongest when its members stand together.
He chose to support Team Joe because he sees a team made up of people with different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives—but with a common goal:
One of Adam’s biggest priorities is changing the relationship between elected officials and the membership.
“I would like to see the elected officials get back to a service mentality as opposed to ruling over the members.”
For Adam, union leadership should be about serving the membership—not ruling over it.
He wants to see a Local 290 where members feel heard, respected, and represented, and where leadership works to bring people together rather than divide them.
A reunited membership.
A stronger union.
Leadership that serves.
Adam’s life isn't all pipe, welding, and fitting.
When he isn't working or serving his union, you'll most likely find him outdoors, playing music, or spending time with his family.
As Adam puts it:
“I love the outdoors, playing music, my family, and my union. Those four things take up all my time.”
